We congratulate newly appointed US Senator Laphonza Butler who has been nominated by California Governor Gavin Newsom following the passing of Diane Feinstein who dedicated her life as a public servant for over 45 years. We look forward to working with Senator-designate Butler and Governor Newsom as we move forward and ask that they continue working to enact policies advance the well-being of every Californian and this country. As a Latino majority state representing the fastest growing GDP, Latinos are the primary drivers of the economy of the most populus state in the nation and the country’s economy. At a time when anti-immigrant and other hateful rhetoric are at an all-time high, it is critical that our leadership in Congress works to preserve rights and ensure opportunities for upward mobility.
